Yes. The consultation and the home value report cost nothing, and you are under no obligation. If you later decide to sell or buy with Val, he explains his fees in writing before you sign anything.
Is the home value report an appraisal?
No. It is an opinion of price prepared by a licensed real estate agent from recent sales and current listings. A lender's appraisal is a separate report done by a licensed appraiser.
Do I need to sign anything to talk to Val?
No. If you decide to tour homes as a buyer, Arizona practice is to sign a written buyer agreement first. Val walks you through it before you sign.
